Made-to-measure wardrobes, loft storage and dressing rooms for Clapham’s family houses and period homes.
We design and build fitted wardrobes across Clapham and SW4. In the Victorian and Edwardian houses around Abbeville Road and Clapham South, that usually means units in the alcoves beside the chimney breast, or storage built into a new loft room. In older and listed houses near the Old Town and the Common, we design units that sit neatly in the room without cutting into original features.
A built-in wardrobe runs the full height and width of the space and is cut to the actual shape of the walls, which in a period house are seldom square. You get more storage than with freestanding furniture, and no gap on top to gather dust.
Inside, the layout follows what you need to keep, whether that is mostly hanging, mostly folded or a mix, with drawers, shoe racks and high cupboards for suitcases. Fronts can be painted panels to suit a period room, plain modern doors, or sliding where space is tight.

Planned around the room and how you use it.
Many Clapham families extend into the loft and then need the new room fitted out. We build wardrobes and eaves storage as part of our loft conversions, or on their own afterwards, shaped to the dormer and the slope of the roof.
In listed houses, fixing units into original panelling, cornices or skirting can affect the building’s special interest and may need consent. We design units that stand on their own frames and are scribed up to the walls, so original features stay intact and the units could come out later without damage.
We measure, talk through what you store and agree the design.

Yes. We build wardrobes and eaves storage shaped to the slope and the dormer, either during the conversion or afterwards.
They shouldn’t. We stop the units below the cornice or scribe neatly up to it, rather than cutting it away.

Making usually takes a few weeks, and fitting takes one to three days for most rooms.
Yes. We fit them as a job on their own as well as within lofts and refurbishments.
Fitted Wardrobes is one of ten building services we offer across Clapham and SW4. If your project needs more than one, we run them as a single job.
