First and second fix carpentry, staircases and fitted joinery for Mitcham’s inter-war, Victorian and post-war homes.
Our carpenters work across Mitcham and CR4, on the extensions and lofts we build and on standalone jobs. Mitcham’s homes range from Victorian cottages near Cricket Green to inter-war semis and post-war estate houses, and the joinery in each is different. We repair originals where they’re worth keeping, and build new work to suit the house.
On our own building projects, the carpenters frame the structure first: floor joists, stud walls, roof timbers for gables and dormers, and door linings. They return after plastering for the second fix, which covers doors, skirting, architraves, window boards and any built-in units.
On standalone jobs we repair or replace staircases, build stud walls, hang doors, fix floors and make fitted cupboards and shelving. We are happy to quote for a single day’s work.
Covers: First fix, second fix, joinery
Common here: Stairs, door hanging, fitted units
House types: Victorian to post-war
Covered: CR4, plus SW16 around Pollards Hill and Longthornton
Structural timber, finishing work and made-to-measure pieces.
Inter-war semis often still have their original staircases, panelled or glazed internal doors and picture rails. These are worth keeping in good order, and we can repair loose balusters, ease sticking doors and match missing lengths of moulding.
We see the work and note anything original worth keeping.

Yes. Smaller jobs such as fitting shelves, boxing in pipes or repairing a stair are fine.
Carpentry is one of ten building services we offer across Mitcham and CR4. If your project needs more than one, we run them as a single job.
